Go Ninja Go Ninja Go!

So I haven’t posted in a while, and that would mainly be to me having nothing to write about. BUT now I do, and boy is it good.

My day started off by waking up and freaking out. Apparently my electricity went out Tuesday night because when I woke up my alarm clock read 4:30AM but it was daylight, so obviously it was wrong. I had to be at Tony’s to load the van by 11:00AM so you can tell why I freaked. Thank God it was only 8.

So we go to Tony’s, load up, pick up merch flirt KURT in the city and head on up to NYC. We arrived at Irving Plaza(the venue) about an hour early so we got to walk around NYC for a bit. The venue was conveniently loacted a block from Union Square so we hung out until we could head back.

We get back to the venue to see what the load in situation was and they are rolling out a red carpet. I was not expecting that… more on that later. We then load in and there is this camera crew filming our every move, definitely weird. We load in and sit around for a while. Then Vanilla Ice’s crew starts to sound check. Very intense to say the least. Vanilla shows up and he knows everything about how to soundcheck, he is way more talented then people would give him credit for. He gets done then its our turn to soundcheck. I love big venues, the sound is always so great.

We got done that then headed to get ready for the Red Carpet. We are rushed out back, hop into a limo(max’s first limo ride!) and roll around to the front of the venue. As the driver opens the door all the people in line start screaming, a rock star moment for sure! Then we do a few pictures and an interview with a guy named Billy Zero.

We were the opening band so we go up and play our set, probably one of our best yet, and it was just a ton of fun. We got to hang out for the rest of the show(which seemed like forever), anxiously awaiting Vanilla Ice. A few of our friends came out, but most of them missed our set which was a bummer. But at least they made it out and we got to hang.

Vanilla Ice came on, and to say the least I was blown away. He was a great performer. He played ICE ICE BABY and it was so awesome… he had a ton of girls come up on stage(like 20 or so) and dance around him. After he got done we chatted up with the other bands and some people from the show.

Finally right as we are about to leave, Tony is bugging me and Jim to get a pic with him. We oblige and I’m so glad we did. We walked into his dressing room and talked to him for a few minutes and snapped a shot, which you can see below:

Us and Vanilla Ice!

The best part of the whole story is what happened afterwards. Litteraly seconds after this picture, as Tony is talking to Ice, he tells tony to grab all these beers and take them on the road! So funny, you would think he’d be mean, but he was so nice and genuine. Tony couldn’t say no so we had a bunch of his beers for the ride home. The ride home took forever and I didn’t get home till 4AM but overall, it was a succesful night.

I leave for warped tour soon, and I can’t wait! more on that soon
